Jubilee losers urged by Uhuru to support the party (Video)

Jubilee politicians from Central Kenya who lost in party primaries concluded last week have been urged to support the party despite their loss.

In a meeting held at State House between the politicians and President Uhuru Kenyatta, he warned them against fighting the party together with those who were nominated by the people during the primaries.

Uhuru cited that any effort by the losers to fight the party in their respective areas of jurisdiction would ultimately lead to voter apathy which puts his re-election in jeopardy.

Some of those who attended the meeting include Kigumo MP Jamleck Kamau who lost to Mwangi wa Iria in Murang’a governorship, Maina Kamanda (Starehe MP), Kabando wa Kabando (Mukure-ini) among many others.

However, Kimabu governor William Kabogo who lost to his political nemesis Ferdinand Waititu was conspicuously missing from the meeting.

Kabogo, in his concession statement, alleged that some powerful external forces did not want him in power and therefore rigged him out.

Though speculative, he only stated that President Uhuru Kenyatta had nothing to do with it but blamed top Jubilee officials for his loss.

President’s message was also directed to some of the losers who have now decided to vie for the seats as independent candidates.

At the meeting, Uhuru is said to have chided Nyeri Town MP Esther Murugi who cried foul after being trounced in the primaries and new people coming in.

Murugi, who was named as President Uhuru Kenyatta’s campaigner in the county early in the year, said together with other Nyeri County MPs, they were kicked out and Jubilee officials had favored candidates nominated to take over their positions.

Uhuru said no one should complain as the people have decided who should be their leader and he will only work with those elected.

Some of the losers have blamed their loss on some powerful figures in government and also in Jubilee Party.
