Former Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze has passed on.

The former leader of Minority in the 11th Parliament passed on at Nairobi Hospital, Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua confirmed.

His body was moved to Lee Funeral home according to his family.

Nyenze appeared for his swearing-in with an oxygen tank strapped on his back.

He looked frail, an indication all was not well with his body but he still put up a brave face even infront of cameras.

He cheerfully greeted journalists within Parliament precincts and his colleagues too.

“How are you are friends…mimi pia nimefika (I’ve also made it) for the swearing-in,” said ahe according to Daily Nation.

Nyenze said he was suffering from Pneumonia.

He was born on June 2, 1957 at Kabati in Kitui County. He started his political career during retired President Daniel Moi’s era.

At one time, he served as the Environment, Heritage and Sports minister.

Before the August 8 polls, Nyenze who was a close ally of Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka sparked a storm pitting Jubilee against NASA.

He had endorsed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election together with former Kitui Senator David Musila.
