Kepher Nyambane, the brave man who blocked President Uhuru Kenyatta’s motorcade in Lucky Summer, Nairobi has all reasons to smile.

The middle-aged man says that life has been tough on him but things are beginning to shape up since the incident.

The father of three said that two of his children had been sent away from school. He wanted to share his plight with the President and he did exchange a few words with him before his motorcade proceeded.

“The President guaranteed me that we will talk. He yelled – tutaongea, tutaongea (we will talk later) before rolling up his car window and sped off,” Kepher said.

He says since the story viral, one of his children who had been at home is now back in school.

Kepher has been struggling financially and has been unable to take care of all his three children. One of his daughters stays with his sister and he lives with the other daughter and another child.

“My sister took in one of my children. The other one, who was recently sent home for school fees, has reported back to school after her head-teacher watched me attempting to catch the President’s attention due to frustration.

“I did not fear being run over by his cars, as it is I am at the end of the road since I cannot provide for my family,” he recalled.

He said Uhuru told police officers to let him be after the incident and promised to have a sit down with him soon.

“I heard him (Kenyatta) telling his bodyguards: ‘achana na huyo kijana. He, thereafter, addressed me, saying: ‘tutaongea, tutaongea before rolling up his car window’,” Kephar remarked.

Kephar is now eagerly waiting for his meeting with the President.
