The IEBC has called off Saturday repeat presidential poll in four counties Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay and Migori counties.
The chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Mr. Wafula Chebukati said in a press briefing that a new date for elections in those counties will be announced at a later date.
IEBC had postponed the election in those regions to Saturday, October 28th after violence on Thursday disrupted the process.
In some polling stations, polling clerks resigned citing fear of attacks by anti-poll groups.
The regions are National Super Alliance strongholds and the coalition leader, Mr. Raila Odinga, had urged them to boycott the election that he had described as sham.
