Supreme Court registrar Esther Nyaiyaki is not off the hook yet as Jubilee part pushed for a commission of inquiry into the report she submitted to judges in the August 8 petition.

Kiambu Town MP Jude Njomo is pushing Parliament to have the President set up a commission of inquiry into a report by the registrar.

The commission of enquiry once set up will also scrutinize on other issue relating to the Supreme Court and are of public concern.

After the August 8 poll petition was ruled on by Supreme Court judges, it emerged that Nyaiyaki may have misled the court by submitting a flawed document leading to nullification of August polls.

In a notice of motion to the National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, Njomo said according to Daily Nation that; “There is a need to bring into closure the issues arising from the presidential election petition of August 8.”

He explained the commission of inquiry will investigate into-depth the conduct of Nyaiyaki and if the Supreme Court was misled by her report into nullifying the polls.

Njomo’s motion seeks to amplify EACC’s effort into investigating Nyaiyaki.

The anti-graft body has unsuccessfully tried to probe her conduct. It has been blocked by the Judiciary who argue that EACC has no jurisdiction in probing one of their own.

Judiciary’s Chief registrar Ann Amadi in response to EACC’s quest said Nyaiyaki can be probed by Judicial Service Commission on the allegations leveled on her but not EACC.
